Once upon a time, many moons ago, a maiden was deemed far too strange for the Kingdom of Norm, a land in which most of the people of the World lived comfortably. She was imprisioned in a dark place where the Rulers hoped that she would embrace the ways of Normality and become one of Them.
They are sadly disappointed.
While confined to the darkness the maiden sat huddled against a wall, knees pulled to her chest and eyes widened in distant thought. From the shadows of the prison others began to emerge, crawling forward to see this newcomer.
"Who is it?" one whispered to another.
"Where did she come from?" a second replied.
The questioning went on for several days before the maiden rose her face and spoke:
"My name is Kioni Shiné," she said. The other prisoners chattered amongst themselves before turning to Kio.
"I am Render Valentine," one said in a clear, cold voice. The shadow drummed its fingers on the floor, sending a metallic echo around the room. Render's left arm was made of a silvery metal and ended in a deadly looking claw. Crimson hair spilled down around the shadow's shoulders and Kioni reached out with a hand to touch the red tresses.
"Did they bring you here too?" she whispered, dark eyes looking up to Render Valentine. The shadow nodded and looked around at all the others behind it, indicating that they had all been sent there by the Rulers. Kioni looked around and sat up a bit straighter.
"Let's break away," she said. "Let us be an Order of our own."
And thus the Order was created.
But not really. The actual story is a lot less ornate and a bit more nerdy. It all began a few years ago when I (Kioni) got the idea for a group called the Order of the Insane. At first it was going to be an artistic subject: I would write of a group of misfits, or draw my friends. Eventually I took advantage of the Invisionfree website designs to bring all my insane friends together on the Net in one forum based area. That Order was born December 12, 2006 at 10:14 PM and lasted until late October 2008 when it drifted away from its original purpose of bringing Order members together. Heh, that was mostly my fault!
Now we are brought together once more in hopes or rising above the Rulers and breaking their Normality.
